GOOD PRACTICE EXHIBITION

“SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES AND PROCESSES
FOR IMPROVED LIVELIHOODS”

Call for case studies and displays

We call upon development practitioners (individuals and organizations) to identify and document good practice in sustainable technologies and processes for improved livelihoods. In line with PELUM and PROLINNOVA’s vision, such practices include:

  • Innovation in sustainable farming.
  • Seed security and breeding rights.
  • Processing and marketing of indigenous and traditional foods.
  • Organic production and marketing.

Case studies will be presented as posters at the Good Practice Exhibition. Following the Indaba, an interactive Good Practice database will be developed for use by farmers, extension staff and other development practitioners.

 

Timeline

Deadline for abstracts                   19 May 2008
Confirmation of acceptance            26 May
Deadline for posters                      9 Jun
Poster display at exhibition            20-21 June
Case studies revised                     31 Aug
Launch of database                       1 Oct

 

PROLINNOVA stands for Promoting Local Innovation in ecologically-oriented agriculture and natural resources management. It is an international learning and advocacy network comprising NGO’s, Government research and extension, and Universities aimed at promoting participatory and farmer-led approaches in research and development.
